New episode of WWE Backstage to air after Smackdown this Friday on FS1

WWE Backstage will be returning for a special one-hour broadcast this Friday on FS1 immediately following the conclusion of Friday Night Smackdown.

Due to the MLB World Series, Smackdown got bumped to FS1 from FOX and FS1 is reviving the Backstage show for the occasion.

Backstage got canceled in June as part of cost-cutting measures from FOX Sports after making its debut in November 2019. The show was anchored by Renee Young and featured Booker T, Paige, and Christian as panelists. Former WWE champion CM Punk also joined the panel later.

It’s not known if it will be a studio-based show or a virtual show like the last few episodes of Backstage were. It was not announced who will be hosting the show either.

FOX has said that it would bring Backstage back for special WWE occasions.
