WWE developmental talent tests positive for COVID-19, TV tapings postponed for today

WWE has postponed today’s Raw and Smackdown television tapings after a developmental talent who was at the WWE Performance Center on Tuesday, June 9, tested positive for COVID-19. June 9 was the date that WWE taped an episode of NXT which aired last Wednesday on USA Network.

Everyone who will be part of the Raw and Smackdown tapings are being tested today for COVID-19 and tapings are scheduled to take place tomorrow in what looks like will be a full day of work with Raw, Smackdown, 205 Live, and NXT all taped on the same day.

“A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms,” a WWE statement said. “However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule.”

WWE does not do COVID-19 testing on site and it’s usually just taking the temperature of those who will be inside the Performance Center and filling out some forms.

The original taping schedule had one episode of Raw and one episode of Smackdown today which would have aired on June 22 and June 26 and tomorrow two episodes of NXT which would air on June 17 and June 24.
