Updated: Rhea Ripley denies visa story

UPDATE: Former NXT Women’s champion Rhea Ripley denied that she has returned home to Australia because of her visa expiring and in a post on Instagram said that she’s still in the United States.

Ripley uploaded a video on her Instagram stories showing her at home with the caption “Yo wrestling world…still in America.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported yesterday that former NXT Women’s champion Rhea Ripley has returned to her native country of Australia after her working visa expired.

Non-U.S. citizens who work in the country must return to their home country to reapply for their visa, a process which can take several weeks or months depending on the situation. She’s not the first one that had to go back and it’s a pretty common issue among those International Superstars.

The only problem right now is to get it done while the world is going through this whole COVID-19 pandemic and the process could take much longer.

Ripley lost the NXT Women’s title to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36, and the decision to take the title from her might have also come from the fact that they knew she’d have to return home for an undetermined amount of time.
