Jerry Lawler’s return to Raw’s broadcast booth is only temporary

Jerry “The King” Lawler’s return to the broadcast booth as an analyst is only a temporary gig according to most industry insiders.

Lawler was a surprise announcement after WWE this week unveiled the new commentary teams for both Raw and Smackdown. Lawler is teamed up with Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin. The WWE Hall of Famer is obviously no stranger to Monday Night Raw, having been part of the broadcast booth for the majority of Raw’s years on television along with Jim Ross.

The speculation is that other individuals are being considered for a full-time role on the Raw broadcast booth once Lawler’s time is up.

Meanwhile, PWInsider.com adds that Booker T is also a temporary host for the WWE Backstage studio show on FS1. Several WWE Legends were given a trip to Los Angeles to audition for the show and it looks like it will be a rotating role among WWE’s most popular Superstars of the past.

FOX Sports will be handling the production for WWE Backstage rather than WWE and the show will not be live.
