Is The Rock going to lay the Smackdown on FOX next week?

The same article on AdAge.com that revealed the new list of Smackdown advertisers and Progressive as the new presenting sponsor says that several opening night surprise appearances are being kept closely under wraps by WWE and FOX.

“Keep an eye peeled for the trash-talking Goliath who is now the WWE’s most storied alum, as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson may very well look to pop in on the 20th anniversary of SmackDown and promote his upcoming Disney flick, Jungle Cruise,” the article says.

The Rock has one of the busiest schedules on the planet for a human being but in the past he did what he had to do to make it to WWE shows.

The man known as The People’s Champion has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 32 where he beat Rowan in a six-second match and later celebrated with John Cena. In 2017, he showed up on Raw after the broadcast went off the air to help coordinate shooting scenes for the Fighting With My Family movie. That night, Raw was held at the STAPLES Center, the same location where the Smackdown FOX premiere takes place next week.
