Impact’s Madison Rayne joins the Mae Young Classic tournament

WWE has announced three new names for the Mae Young Classic tournament which includes Madison Rayne, who last week wrestled Su Yung for the Impact Knockouts title at Slammiversary XVI.

Now using the name of Ashley Rayne, she is the biggest surprise entrant so far. The former five-time TNA Knockouts champion is a 13-year wrestling veteran and had a pretty eventful career at Impact Wrestling. In October last year, Rayne was part of a WWE Performance Center class. Rayne is married to current Impact commentator Josh Mathews, who on Twitter wrote that today was “proud husband day,” highlighting a fantastic summer Rayne had with Impact, ROH, and now WWE.

Also joining the tournament is Priscilla Kelly, who is 21 years old from Georgia. Kelly is the first-ever Shine Nova champion, winning the title in July of last year and holding it until March 2018.

The youngest competitor in the Mae Young Classic tournament so far is Xia Brookside, the 19-year-old Brit from Leicester. She is the stepdaughter of Robbie Brookside, one of the WWE Performance Center coaches.
