McMahon comments on women’s tag team titles and women headlining WrestleMania

Speaking exclusively to the WWE’s UK broadcast partner Sky Sports, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon said that the women’s tag team titles are coming, but “not quite yet.”

When asked if we will be seeing the titles at the Evolution women’s only pay-per-view, McMahon said that they heard “loud and clear” from their fans about the titles and while they’re not quite there yet, it’s something that the company will be implementing as soon as they are able to.

Rumors are that the belts have already been designed and would be defended across both brands – Raw and Smackdown – rather than each brand having its own titles.

Meanwhile, McMahon hopes that it will not be far from when the WWE women will headline a WrestleMania. “We’re certainly making strides and changes are happening every single day. They can’t happen fast enough for me – but we’ve definitely seen positive momentum and moves towards that,” McMahon said.

And, is she making a return to the ring at Evolution? Stephanie laughed when asked the question but said that’s yet to be determined. “We want to make sure our Superstars really get the spotlight they deserve but if it makes sense then absolutely. But that’s yet to be determined.”
