Jim Ross and Lita to call the Mae Young Classic tournament

WWE Hall of Famers Jim Ross and Lita will be doing the commentary for the Mae Young Classic 32-women tournament on the WWE Network which kicks off in late August.

Jim Ross returned on WWE’s books at WrestleMania, calling The Undertaker’s last match and then tasked with doing commentary for the WWE UK Championship Live along with Nigel McGuinness. He was then also invited back to call the WWE UK title match with McGuinness at NXT Takeover: Chicago.

Lita’s involvement will mark her first gig with the company since she was released from her deal back in December of last year. Lita was a producer/agent backstage as well as appearing on the Raw, Smackdown and pay-per-view pre-shows.

The Mae Young Classic tournament will start on the WWE Network on Monday, August 28 with the first four episodes available on-demand. Episodes five through eight will be available on-demand starting Monday, September 4. The final tournament match will stream live from Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 12 at 10PM ET.
