WWE acknowledges Snuka’s death, refers to him as Hall of Famer

WWE has acknowledged the passing of “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, the first time that Snuka has been mentioned since he was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame after he was charged with murder in 2015.

“WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has passed away,” the statement said. “Snuka is regarded by many as the pioneer of high-flying offense because of his Superfly Splash from the top turnbuckle. His dive off the top of the steel cage onto Don Muraco at Madison Square Garden as hundreds of flash bulbs went off will forever live as one of the most memorable moments in WWE history.”

WWE then extended its condolences to Snuka’s family, friends and fans. In the statement, they referred to Snuka as a WWE Hall of Famer however his image – just like Hulk Hogan’s – is not part of the WWE Hall of Fame list on WWE.COM.
