WWE raises $1 million for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation

October is breast cancer awareness month and WWE took an extra step to help out by teaming with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation by dishing out merchandise, spots during WWE television, logos on the entrance ramp, pink ropes, etc etc, however the big contribution was delivered yesterday on RAW.

With all WWE Superstars and Divas at the top of the ramp, WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon introduced Dorothy Jones,  Vice President of Marketing for Susan G. Komen, along with John Cena, who were in the ring. Cena thanked the WWE fans for buying the Rise Above Cancer merchandise which all profit went to the foundation.

The former WWE champion then presented a large check of a whooping $1 million to the foundation much to the surprise of Jones and Eric Brinker, the son of founder and CEO of the foundation who was also present in the ring.

“Women everywhere will benefit from this extraordinary partnership, which has helped to reach millions of people, while raising funds for Komen’s cutting-edge global research program,” Jones said in a press release. “We are so grateful for WWE, and especially to John Cena and the WWE Superstars and Divas, for their enthusiastic support and friendship.”
