AJ Styles suffering from ankle injury after TLC match

The WWE World Heavyweight title match between AJ Styles and James Ellsworth did not take place last night on Smackdown as AJ Styles is suffering from an ankle injury.

Styles received medical attention after the TLC pay-per-view went off the air and was then helped to the back. He was taken off the card from Monday’s non-televised live event in Tyler, Texas and then appeared on Smackdown yesterday with a boot over his left leg. He told the crowd that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete, which brought Ellsworth out, and later Ambrose who flattened him with the Dirty Deeds.

It’s unclear when he exactly injured his ankle during the match or how long he will be out for. The good thing for Styles is that there’s no other Smackdown pay-per-view till the Royal Rumble, so he has around six weeks to heal up.
