Top two matches set for No Mercy 2016

The top two matches for Smackdown’s No Mercy pay-per-view were set on last night’s show with both the main even for the WWE World title and the Smackdown Women’s title match announced.

The Smackdown Women’s champion Becky Lynch will be making her first title defense against Alexa Bliss, who surprisingly pinned Nikki Bella after Carmella super kicked the former Divas champion and then Bliss took advantage by getting rid of Carmella and pinning Nikki. The number one contender match was decided in a 5-way match between Nikki, Carmella, Natalya, Naomi, and Bliss.

Meanwhile the main event will be a triple threat match between champion AJ Styles and challengers Dean Ambrose and John Cena. Cena decided he wanted AJ Styles’ title to tie Ric Flair’s record of 16 world titles but Ambrose wanted his rematch, so Shane McMahon set the triple threat match.
