Brock Lesnar steps back into the Octagon tonight at UFC 200

It’s tiiiiiiime! The last time Brock Lesnar stepped into the Octagon for a UFC pay-per-view was December 30, 2011, fighting Alistair Overeem in a fight that did not end too well for the former WWE and UFC Heavyweight champion.

Tonight, it’s sort of redemption. Free from diverticulitis – the problem that kept him from being 100% while in the UFC – the beast incarnate returns to the Octagon to face one of the heavy hitters in the UFC, Mark Hunt.

Lesnar will be trying to improve his mixed martial arts record to 6-3 tonight and will be coming off two straight losses – to Overeem and Cain Velasquez. Before those two losses, Lesnar had a four-fight winning streak which saw him defeating Heath Herring, Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight title, Frank Mir, and the then undefeated Shane Carwin.

Only one of Lesnar’s fights went to distance, against Herring in 2008. His losses to Frank Mir, Velasquez, and Overeem were all wrapped up in round one while the rest of his wins came in the second round.

The mayor of Suplex City is expected to be making his way down to the Octagon in his WWE theme song after the WWE gave him permission to use his theme for the pay-per-view.

Depending on the outcome of this fight, it might not be the only time we see Lesnar back in the Octagon and he made no secret about it.
