The class action lawsuit brought forward by the man formerly known as Rene Dupree against WWE over the unpaid WWE Network royalties has been dropped already. The lawsuit was filed in the state of Connecticut, home of the WWE.

Earlier this week, WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt notified the legal team of the plaintiff that a 2011 contract he signed prevents him from bringing these kind of claims against the company, something that apparently Dupree – real name Rene Goguen – forgot to mention.

While pre-2006 contracts didn’t have such a clause and entitled talents to receive royalties on a variety of services they would be a part of, newer contracts were more favorable to the company and did not include royalties on streaming services.
