28 year old NXT wrestler Bull Dempsey – real name James Smith – was released by WWE today according to his Twitter, two and a half years after signing a developmental deal.

“It’s been real @WWENXT. Amazing group of coaches & coworkers & a helluva boss. Thank you for the opportunity @TripleH. Dempsey signed on June 2013 and made his NXT debut a couple of months later. While he was never part of something big in NXT, he did wrestle at NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way, beating Mojo Rawley. Lately he ran with the gimmick of “Bull-Fit.
