Liger coming to NXT Takeover at request of William Regal

In a post on Twitter, William Regal said that people are over-analyzing the arrival of Jushin “Thunder” Liger at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn because the fact is that there is no back story and it was just a favor he cashed in.

“Sometimes just being around enough you can call a friend. It really is as simple as me making a call to a friend I’ve known since 1986 to come and compete for @WWENXT,” Regal wrote in a few tweets.

With this statement it seems that WWE went straight to Liger for this agreement rather than through NJPW. Liger can negotiate international deals by himself.

He then proceeded to give some words of wisdom. “A lesson – be polite, helpful, understand that a still tongue keeps a wise head and you’ll earn a lot of trust and people will help when needed.”

Jushin “Thunder” Liger will wrestle Tyler Breeze at the event and it will be his first time stepping inside a WWE ring.
