Elimination Chamber coming back for Network special on May 31

WWE announced that the Elimination Chamber will be returning as a special WWE Network broadcast, held on Sunday, May 31, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the American Bank Center.

This was supposed to be a regular non-televised live event headlined by Seth Rollins vs Ryback for the WWE World Heavyweight title but the decision was made to switch it to televised event that will not be available on regular pay-per-view.

Unlike the King of the Ring live one hour special which was taped along with Smackdown, this is expected to be a full-on production. The Elimination Chamber was taken off the pay-per-view schedule this year after it occupied the February slot since 2010. It was replaced by Fastlane.

With the WWE Network free offer ending on that day, WWE is hoping to lure in more subscribers to stay put and pay for the month of June. The WWE Network was offered for free for new subscribers in February, April, and May.
