Guardians of the Galaxy movie with Batista hits it big in box office revenue

Guardians of the Galaxy, the new Marvel movie featuring former WWE and World Heavyweight champion Batista, opened with a massive $37.8 million in one day, basically doing almost $10 million more than The Rock’s Hercules did in a whole weekend.

Hercules opened at 500 less theaters however only managed to get $11 million last Friday alone, with Guardians pulling more than three times as much yesterday. Up until yesterday, Hercules had nearly $45 million in domestic box office revenue in one week plus nearly $29 million in foreign box office.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie is getting good reviews and Batista, playing the character of Drax the Destroyer, has found himself a big franchise to be a part of in the years to come.
