WWE helps pay hip replacement surgery for former lucha star Psicosis

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE recently paid in full the hip replacement cost for former AAA/ECW/WCW star Psicosis.

The move was pushed internally by Rey Mysterio, who had several classic bouts with Psicosis back in the day, and was ultimately given the okay by WWE President Nick Khan. The total cost amounted to around $44,000.

The 55-year-old is a former two-time WCW Cruiserweight champion and is part of the AAA Hall of Fame, inducted in 2024.

Meltzer reports also that Psicosis is currently under a WWE Legends deal for merchandise. He worked for the company briefly between 2005 and 2006 and was released due to being arrested in Mexico.
