WWE staff volunteering at Special Olympics USA Games

The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games kicked off last night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, last night and WWE had a big hand in the production.

WWE signed up as a Founding Partner of the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games and will be promoting the games on their TV broadcasts, live events, digital and social media.

Apart from that, WWE will serve as the Official Production Partner of the Games, filming the opening ceremonies as well as producing daily recaps of the sporting competitions and special events throughout the Games. WWE will also produce an hour-long television show highlighting the Games.

Several WWE Superstars and Divas have been volunteering in the lead up to the Games and The Big Show, David Otunga, and Stephanie McMahon were present for last night’s opening ceremony. In addition, WWE employees will be volunteering throughout the Games and the company has also made a financial contribution to support the event.

WWE’s involvement with the Special Olympics USA Games was announced at WrestleMania 29 in New Jersey last year when Stephanie McMahon joined NJ Governor Chris Christie, SONA President Bob Gobrecht, 2014 USA Games Chairman TJ Nelligan, SONJ President Marc Edenzon and Special Olympics athletes on stage for a presentation.
