WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt replies to class action lawsuit over WWE Network royalties

WWE’s leading attorney Jerry McDevitt told The Hollywood Reporter that the lawsuit filed by Rene Goguen – the man formerly known as Rene Dupree – over unpaid WWE Network royalties will not hold because Goguen forgot to mention something important to his lawyers.

McDevitt claims that Goguen signed a contract in 2011 that prevents him to bring these kind of claims against the company and while he did not going into specifics due to  confidentiality, he said that he informed Goguen’s lawyer about this contract.

“His response back indicates he did not know about it,” McDevitt said.

Newer WWE contracts specify that wrestlers are not paid a percentage on any kind of subscriptions or royalties from television fees.
