WWE apologizes to Russian fans over flag incident

Probably facing some backlash from fans, WWE issued an apology over an angle that aired on Raw this past Monday involving the Russian flag.

During the angle between Big Show and Rusev, Show ended up ripping the Russian flag which was hanging above the ring and throwing it down.

“We at WWE would like to apologize to the Russian people for the incident on Monday Night Raw that could have been construed as disrespect for their nation’s flag.”

Disrespecting someone’s flag is not new in WWE and the company or its wrestlers did it before, most notably with the Canadian flag years ago during the Attitude Era.
