Who is inducting whom at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame

Those being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame tonight will probably be speaking for a long…long time however prior to that, it’s up to those inducting them to set the tone and get the crowd going.

Choosing who is going to induct who is usually up to those who are getting the honors that evening however more often than not WWE ends up making the final decision, and sometimes changing, who will be doing the honors for these legends.

Inducting Sting tonight will be none other than 16-time World Heavyweight champion Ric Flair. The Nature Boy is the only 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and shares a very long history with Sting and probably was the best person to induct the Stinger. Flair has previously helped induct Harley Race, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Tatsumi Fujinami.

Doing the honors for the late Big Boss Man will be his former manager Slick. The Doctor of Style accompanied Boss Man when he first came in the WWE and was also his manager when he teamed with Akeem to form the Twin Towers. This will be Slick’s first time at the Hall of Fame. It’s not known who will be doing the acceptance speech on behalf of the Big Boss Man.

The Godfather – hopefully arriving with the ho train – will be inducted by Hall of Famer Ron Simmons and his former tag team partner John “Bradshaw” Layfield of the APA. The three are big friends which is why the APA were picked to do the honors for The Godfather. JBL has inducted Simmons before but this will be Simmons’ first time inducting someone else.

The Fabulous Freebirds are being inducted by The New Day, a choice which baffled a lot of minds considering the two share no history whatsoever and the only thing related to the Freebirds is that The New Day use the “Freebird rule” when defending their titles. Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin will be there in person however the other two former members, Buddy Roberts and Terry Gordy will be inducted posthumously. It’s The New Day’s first time inducting at the Hall of Fame.

Jacqueline Moore has personally chosen The Dudley Boyz to induct her. “Chose the Dudley Boyz because they are my good friends behind the scenes. They are like brothers to me. They know what makes me tick,” Moore explained on Twitter why she went with the former tag team champions. “No regrets. Love the Dudley Boyz. They keep it real.” This will also be the Dudley Boyz first time inducting someone at the Hall.

Former WCW champion Vader will be doing the honors for Stan Hansen. The two share a long rivalry between them over in Japan and Vader is probably the best one to welcome Hansen in the Hall of Fame. Hansen has already delivered a speech when he inducted Antonio Inoki a couple of years ago however this is Vader’s first time on the podium.

The Warrior Award will be presented to Joan Lunden by Warrior’s widow, Dana. The Warrior Award has taken a different turn than what Warrior wished it would have been as during his speech he said he would love an award to recognize those hardworking individuals backstage who contribute a lot to the world of professional wrestling. Dana was okay with Lunden receiving the award and was thrilled with the selection.

Snoop Dogg’s induction is still to be announced. The super WWE fan will join the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame and hopefully will not be smoking weed on stage. Snoop Dogg is the cousin of WWE Diva Sasha Banks so she might have something to do with his introduction.
