Vince McMahon apologizes to CM Punk

“I’m going to ask you a yep or nope question, do you want to talk about CM Punk?”

And that’s how Stone Cold Steve Austin put McMahon on the spot last night on his special edition of his podcast on the WWE Network.

McMahon started off by first personally apologizing to CM Punk for sending the termination papers right on his wedding day, saying that it was pure coincidence and it wasn’t meant to be that way.

He said he was “not gonna wash dirty laundry in public,” and admitted that he has not listened to the interview Punk did with Cabana but there’s always two sides to every story.

The boss said that Punk “might regret” some of the stuff he said later down the road but he hopes that one day the two will work together again.

McMahon mentioned that a lot of wrestlers had a fall out with him over the years, specifically pointing out Steve himself, Hulk Hogan, and The Ultimate Warrior. He said that he always does what’s best for business, taking his sizable ego to the side and giving the audience what they want.

Austin talked about how Jim Ross was the bridge between him and McMahon when Austin walked out of the company and asked if there was a JR, the deal with Punk would have been resolved more amicably.

McMahon said that CM Punk is a loaner and agreed that if there was a JR-type of person things would not have ended the way they have ended and said the whole thing was a big lack of communication.
