Smackdown! Live TV report for 10/25/2016

WWE World Champion A.J. Styles continues to get messed around by Dean Ambrose; will this happen again tonight or will he find a way to turn the tables?

Becky Lynch is back in action and in two weeks, puts her Smackdown! Live Women’s Championship up for grabs against Alexa Bliss, on November 8th. Will the “Irish Lass Kicker” be in the house tonight, and if so, what will she have to say? How will Bliss respond?

The Miz and Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler are keeping on with their rivalry; what will be the next chapter?

Since there are no Smackdown!-exclusive Pay-Per-Views before Survivor Series on November 20th, will we start to see which wrestlers be on the Smackdown! Live teams that are going against Raw’s teams at the annual “fall classic?”

Tuesday Night Smackdown! Live TV Report for October 25th, 2016 – “Twisting and Turning To ‘Survive’”

Introduction Segment: Video Promo

A recap of last week’s Smackdown! Live with the WWE World Championship on the line is shown. The announcement from Talking Smack! that Dean Ambrose and WWE World Champion A.J. Styles will wrestle tonight, where if Dean wins, he earns a WWE World Championship Match is also played.

Segment #2: Locker Room Promo

We see Dean Ambrose immediately chatting with an assistant. James Ellsworth joins and wants to be in Ambrose’s corner tonight; Dean actually denies him the opportunity and James looks disappointed.

Match #1: Single – Bray Wyatt VS. Kane

(Stipulation: No Disqualification Rules)

They both slug away to begin and then Kane whips Bray off of the ropes. He hits Wyatt with a clothesline, but Bray comes back with punches and a clothesline. Wyatt hits back some more but Kane punches. He climbs the turnbuckle, but changes his mind and they both fight on the outside. Bray grabs a steel chair, but Kane throws him into the steel steps. “The Big Red Machine” tears off the cover of the announcer’s table, but The Wyatt Family’s video plays and Luke Harper is suddenly standing on the table! He boots Kane and then hits him with a discus clothesline!

Commercials.

“The Eater of Worlds” is in control until Kane hits him with a big boot after Bray posed. Kane follows with a running-DDT and then a diving clothesline from the top turnbuckle! Harper pulls Bray out of the ring, but Kane follows and punches Luke off of the apron. Bray takes advantage of the distraction but can’t take this overall. He signals for Sister Abigail, but Kane counters with a Chokeslam-try. Bray kicks him and runs off the ropes with a semi-crossbody!

Harper re-enters, but Randy Orton’s music plays and he charges down! He fends off Luke, and then he and Kane setup Bray. Suddenly, Randy R.K.O.’s Kane! Orton slides out of the ring as Bray looks on in disbelief and then covers Kane for the victory!

Winner via Pinfall: Bray Wyatt (with Wyatt Family member Luke Harper)

Segment #3: Backstage Promo

WWE World Champion A.J. Styles is interviewed about his match with Dean Ambrose later tonight.

Segment #4: Arena Promo

Smackdown! Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch returns. She is “fired up” to be back, until Alexa Bliss interjects. She insinuates that there was something more to Lynch not competing a few weeks ago at No Mercy for the Smackdown! Live Women’s Championship. Alexa asserts that “this is no fairytale” and that she will come out on top.

Both start to brawl, and Alexa gets the better of it, and then sprays Becky on her back with yellow spray-paint.

Match #2: Tag-Team – The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) VS. The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder)

(Stipulation: Survivor Series Qualifying Match)

The Ascension dominate most of this bout before Ryder and Rawley “hype-up,” and finish off Konnor and Viktor with their “Hype-Ryder” top-turnbuckle double-team.

Segment #5: Backstage Promo

Randy Orton is questioned on why he turned on Kane; “if you can’t beat ‘em … join ‘em.”

Segment #6: Office Promo

General Manager Daniel Bryan is talking on his cell-phone when Natalya walks up. She wants to be Team Captain for the Women; Bryan makes it so the winner of her versus Nikki Bella will be the Captain; the loser will not be on the team at all, as there are many women competing to be on it.

Nikki makes her entrance for their match, next!

Match #3: Single – Nikki Bella VS. Natalya

(Stipulation: Whoever wins is Team Captain for Survivor Series and the loser is not going to be a part of the team whatsoever.)

They lockup and trade a few moves, and then Nikki is yanked from the ring apron, face-first. Natalya follows with a discus clothesline and takes control in the ring. she covers a couple of times but can’t take this. She locks on an abdominal stretch, and modifies it by pulling on Nikki’s right leg. Bella reverses into a roll-up for a near-fall!

Natalya stretches Nikki again with a surfboard, but Bella reverses again. Natalya regains dominance quickly and twists her into a Sharpshooter! Nikki struggles and manages to clasp the bottom rope for a break! Natalya misses a jumping leg-drop, and Nikki gains some momentum. She hits Natalya with a springboard-kick, but can’t take this! Natalya plants her with a Michinoku-Driver! 1 – 2 – Nikki kicks out!

Natalya traps Nikki in another submission called “The Romero Special,” but Bella powers out and turns Nattie around into an STF, much like John Cena’s! Natalya soon gives-in!

Winner and Team Captain for Survivor Series – Nikki Bella

Post-match, Carmela attacks and plants Nikki with a sit-down facebuster! She mocks John Cena and Nikki with Cena’s “you can’t see me,” and walks away.

Segment #7: Backstage Promo

Ambrose is asked about Styles’ comments from earlier; Dean reminds A.J. that “payback’s a ‘female dog.’”

Up next, The Miz, Maryse, and The Spirit Squad will address Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler.

Segment #8: Arena Promo

The Miz, Maryse, and The Spirit Squad – Kenny and Mikey – strut to the ring. The Miz is still in a sombre mood because Dolph Ziggler is the Intercontinental Champion. Dolph interrupts and tells Miz he is ready to fight, so why not have a rematch for the IC title now!?

The Tag Team champions – Heath Slater and Rhyno – join, and Miz puts it to them to put their titles on the line against The Spirit Squad. Heath does try to give a reason, but Miz goats him into the bout.

Match #4: Tag-Team for the Smackdown! Live Tag Team championship – The Spirit Squad (Kenny and Mikey) (Challengers) (with The Miz and Maryse) VS. Heath Slater and Rhyno (Champions) (with Intercontinental Champion The Miz)

(Note: Dolph and Miz are on commentary.)

Heath has Mikey locked in a grounding headlock; Mikey pushes Slater into The Spirit Squad’s corner, and then tags in Kenny. He works over Heath for a bit, and then aides Mikey in a moonsault! 1 – 2 – Slater raises his shoulder! Kenny is back in and prevents Heath from getting the tag, and then switches with Mikey again. He whips Slater off of the ropes, but Heath hits back with a smacking-knee! Mikey tags in Kenny, but Kenny is unable to stop Slater from making the hot-tag to Rhyno!

“The Man-Beast” cleans house until he is distracted and rolled-up by Kenny but only for two. On the outside, Miz and Dolph argue loud enough,

Segment #9: Backstage Promo

Ellsworth tries to convince Dean again to be by Ambrose’s side; “The Lunatic Fringe” relents and agrees.

Match #5: Single – WWE World Champion A.J. Styles VS. Dean Ambrose (with James Ellsworth)

(Stipulation: If Ambrose wins, he gets a WWE World Championship Match.)

Dean mudhole-stomps A.J. in the corner right away, and then hits him with a running-kick. He punches Styles a few times in the corner.

Ads.

They are in the midst of trying a test-of-strength, and then A.J. continues to control. Dean gets some drive with a Tope Suicida through the ropes and then a fisherman’s-suplex for two! “The Lunatic Fringe” turns A.J. over into a Texas Cloverleaf, but Styles manages to crawl to the ropes for a break. Styles

Commercials.

A.J. has Dean in the corner and props him up atop the turnbuckle. He sets up for a superplex, but Ambrose punches away. Styles headbutts and tries again, but Dean tosses him off and then rockets with an elbow! Both punch back-and-forth, and then Ambrose plants him with a neckbreaker for two! “The Phenomenal One” comes back with a springboard-reverse-DDT for a near-fall! A.J. hits Dean again, but “The Lunatic Fringe” hits back with a hard clotheslines, and then brings him to the canvas with a superplex!

A.J. turns a fireman’s-carry into his calf-crusher submission! Dean battles, slamming Styles against the mat, but A.J. holds on. Ambrose resists to the bottom rope. Styles baseball-slides James hard, knocking him out! Dean dumps A.J. to the floor, and then Ellsworth starts to wake up. He sees an opportunity and superkicks Styles! Referee Mike Chioda and Ambrose look on stunned, and then Chioda calls for the bell, signalling a DQ!

Winner via Disqualification: WWE World Champion A.J. Styles

(Note: Dean Ambrose does NOT get a WWE World Championship Match)

Dean and Chioda continue to look on in wonder, as Ellsworth appears extremely apologetic, and A.J. holds his WWE World Championship high to close the show.
