Sheamus out for up to six months with shoulder injury

Former WWE champion Sheamus will be sitting out on the sidelines for up to six months as he will be required to undergo shoulder surgery.

An MRI revealed that Sheamus has suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder, an injury he suffered at the Money In The Bank ladder match last month. The injury occurred when he was thrown off the top rope and he crashed through a ladder which was ringside, also injuring his left thigh in the process.

While Sheamus continued to wrestle over the past month, WWE.COM reports that he was experiencing sharp pains down his arm at which point WWE doctors ordered an MRI to determine the injury.

The arthroscopic surgery will take place next week and he is expected to recover within four to six months.

“I’ve never in my whole life had to have surgery,” Sheamus told WWE.COM. “I’ve always worked through pain. For the first time in four years, I’m going to be out of action.”
