Seth Rollins faces up to 9 months out with knee injury

The injury to Seth Rollins and the expected recovery time of 6 to 9 months puts WWE in even more trouble as he is the second main eventer to be out for an extended period of time along with Randy Orton, both of whom are expected to miss out on WrestleMania.

ESPN got to announce the breaking news first on Twitter via Jonathan Coachman and then WWE followed with their own story. It’s most likely that Rollins will be transported back to the United States and undergoes surgery there rather than going under the knife across the pond.

With Brock Lesnar only on limited dates, John Cena out till Christmas, and Daniel Bryan still not cleared to compete, the main event guys are very limited at the moment, probably giving space to people such as Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and other mid-carders to move up the ladder. The injury also puts a problem on the current European tour, where Rollins headlines one of the two groups of rosters traveling around. Others on the same tour with Rollins’ group are Kane, Ziggler, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Big Show.

“That which does not kill you, makes you stronger…” wrote Triple H on Twitter while retweeting the WWE.COM story about Rollins. HHH was in a similar position back in 2001 when he tore his quad during a televised tag team match and then came back stronger than ever before.
