Serious shoulder injury delays Shelton Benjamin’s WWE return

Shelton Benjamin announced on his Twitter that his latest arrival in WWE has to be postponed and will not be returning to the company due to a serious shoulder injury. The injury seems to have been discovered while Benjamin was undergoing the usual medical tests that WWE require anyone to complete before joining the roster.

“I am both disappointed & sadden to announce that due to a serious injury to my shoulder I will not be returning to @WWE at this time,” Benjamin wrote. “For now I will have to put pro-wrestling to the side as I prepare to undergo surgery to repair my torn rotator.”

WWE announced on the first post-Draft Smackdown that Benjamin was returning soon to the blue brand but that was the only spot that aired. Benjamin added that this was a shock to him as he had no idea of the severity of his injury. Benjamin thanked WWE for helping him discover the situation and the opportunity to return.

“I will be back,” he concluded.
