Ricardo Rodriguez released from WWE

WWE released Ricardo Rodriguez yesterday with a short message on the WWE.COM website saying, “WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Ricardo Rodriguez as of today, July 30, 2014. WWE wishes Ricardo Rodriguez the best in all of his future endeavors.”

The 28 year old Mexican-American joined WWE in 2010 and made his television debut as Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer in August during an episode of Smackdown.

In July of last year, he failed his first Wellness Program test and was suspended for 30 days and then when he returned, he was attacked by Del Rio, signaling the end of their partnership.

Rodriguez started to pop up at NXT wrestling under a mask as El Local and also joined the Spanish broadcast team at WWE pay-per-views.
