Randy Orton reportedly not cleared to compete tonight at Backlash

PWInsider.com is reporting that Randy Orton will not be facing Bray Wyatt at tonight’s Backlash pay-per-view because he has not been cleared to compete by the WWE medical team after last month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

What happens and how will WWE address the situation come PPV time remains yet to be seen but the Viper is in Virginia and backstage at the show.

Orton was annihilated by Lesnar at SummerSlam last month and was on the receiving end of two nasty unprotected elbow shots to the head which resulted in 10 stitches to close a deep laceration. The TKO ending was part of the script however the way his head split open wasn’t.

Wyatt was not part of the SummerSlam pay-per-view and it would be unfortunate if the leader of the Wyatt Family is once again not able to perform in a WWE pay-per-view event.

WWE.COM is still advertising the Wyatt vs Orton match for tonight.
