Owen Hart DVD/Blu-Ray gets a change in artwork

The upcoming Owen Hart DVD release has gotten a change of artwork and the King of Harts himself is now gracing the cover of the DVD/Blu-Ray box rather than just a logo and two small faded images of him.

Several legal battles between WWE and the Owen Hart estate, controlled by his widow Martha, resulted in WWE opting not to put any photos of Owen on his own DVD. WrestlingDVDNetwork.com is now reporting that there has been a change and WWE is now legally able to use an image of Owen as the front artwork. Martha has blasted WWE for going ahead with the project saying that it had no support from her or the kids and did not like that WWE is going to make money off Owen’s image and likeness.

In an interview last month, Bret Hart blamed Martha for restricting WWE and their work to present the best Owen Hart video. The video will contain a sit-down documentary with those who knew Owen and family members as well as matches from his career. Martha barred WWE from using pictures from Owen’s childhood or those from Stampede Wrestling as well.

It will be released in the United States on December 8. You can see the artwork below.
