Maryse and The Miz attack Nikki Bella and John Cena

WrestleMania will be playing host to a tag team match featuring two of the most famous couples on the WWE roster.

Yesterday during Smackdown, the seeds for the angle that will lead to The Miz and Maryse taking on John Cena and Nikki Bella were planted after the heels got the upper hand.

First it was Nikki Bella who suffered an attack from Maryse during her falls count anywhere match against Natalya. Maryse came out as Natalya was about to tap and beat up Nikki with a pipe. Eventually The Miz came out to take his wife away and Natalya pinned Nikki.

Then in the battle royal later in the evening, Cena eliminated The Miz, but The Miz came back in and threw Cena out. Cena tried to run after The Miz but he quickly left through the fans and did the ‘You Can’t See Me’ hand sign to Cena, who was escorted out of the ring by the referees.

WrestleMania is set to be Nikki’s last match as a full-time WWE performer and a tag match between the Total Divas stars and their respective loved ones is a good way to go. There’s not much friendship between the Bella Twins and Maryse and the three share a nasty history with the real-life situation covered on Total Divas earlier this season.

Cena and The Miz shared the main event of WrestleMania 27 with The Miz coming out victorious.
