La Luchadora unmasks…it’s Mickie James!

Mickie James was unveiled as La Luchadora last night on Smackdown, marking her first time appearing on the main roster since 2010.

James, as La Luchadora, helped Alexa Bliss retain the Smackdown Women’s title in a cage match against Becky Lynch. While the La Luchadora character has been appearing on WWE television over the past few weeks, it was the first time that she was under the mask and costume.

James was offered a new full-time deal with WWE following her match with Asuka at NXT Takeover: Toronto in November and she accepted the deal. The former 5-time Women’s champion wrestled in TNA after she departed WWE but wrapped up her TNA duties in 2015.

Smackdown’s women roster was in need of some additional help considering the roster is a bit weaker compared to the one on Raw.
