John Cena will be hosting the 2016 ESPY Awards on July 13 which will be airing from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
The ESPY Awards – which stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award – recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the year. It airs on ABC, having previously aired on ESPN for 22 years.
“Honored and excited to host the 2016 @ESPYS. Wednesday, July 13 will be a date to remember, I promise that,” Cena said after the official announcement was made.
Previous hosts of the ESPY Awards include Samuel L. Jackson, Justin Timberlake, LeBron James, Jamie Foxx, Drake, and others.
