Hogan’s fourth run in WWE comes to an end after a year and a half

Hulk Hogan’s fourth run in the WWE came to a halt today as WWE disassociated itself from Hogan one and a half years after he made his long awaited return in the beginning of 2014.

Hogan was brought back to the company in February 2014 after a six year absence and was made host of WrestleMania XXX. Hogan opened WrestleMania XXX but soon crashed and burned by referring to the Superdome as the Silverdome a few minutes into his promo. He eventually corrected himself and then Steve Austin and The Rock made the save and poked fun at him for the mistake.

Hogan made sporadic appearances on WWE television throughout the year and served as an ambassador for WWE during high profile events.

In 2015 he inducted Macho Man Randy Savage into the WWE Hall of Fame and the next night at WrestleMania he reunited the nWo with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash and came to Sting’s rescue as he was being attacked by D-Generation X in one of WrestleMania 31’s most memorable moments.

In June he was announced as one of the judges on the all-new Tough Enough, joining Paige and Daniel Bryan on the judges table.

Throughout the year he was telling media that he was hoping for one more match at WrestleMania 32 in front of a possible record-breaking crowd, a match which is now certainly not going to happen.
