Finn Balor undergoes successful shoulder surgery

The first ever – and former – WWE Universal champion Finn Balor underwent successful shoulder surgery Birmingham, Alabama at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.

In charge of the operation was Dr. Jeffrey Dugas, the same doctor who fixed John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and many others in the WWE. Balor is expected to be out of action for up to six months which is why he had to drop the Universal title just 24 hours after winning it at SummerSlam.

Balor was injured when Rollins power bombed him on the security wall, dislocating his shoulder and then self-popping it back in its socket immediately after. He wrestled the rest of the match with a labrum tear and then spent the rest of the night and the day after walking in a sling.

The former NXT champion will now start rehabbing his shoulder in Birmingham before moving back to Florida to continue working on his return to the ring.
