ESPN to hold a weekly WWE segment on SportsCenter

The announcement that Jonathan Coachman hinted on Twitter regarding ESPN and WWE working together is the creation of a weekly segment on ESPN SportsCenter covering the things going on in WWE. It will air every Tuesday as part of the 9PM EST broadcast.

“Remember fun and entertaining. All we are trying to do at ESPN regardless of content,” Coachman said on Twitter. “Remember we want to serve fans anytime anywhere. Athletes are @WWE fans. Superstars are sports fan. #cometogether”

ESPN producer Ashok Moore also chimed in saying that he’s very excited to be part of the continued partnership between WWE and ESPN.

WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins was the first guest who joined the show after a recap of what happened on Raw the day before. As Coach was doing the introductions, Rollins cut him off but Coach quickly put him in his place by saying he’s not Jon Stewart! Rollins proclaimed to be the New England Patriots of the WWE and everyone is jealous of him including Kane. He mentioned when Kane popped up from under the ring and dragged him down and Coach said he was under the ring once and there was a midget involved!

Coach then showed a clip of Rollins running down the Cleveland crowd at a recent Raw and how none of the Cleveland sports teams would be getting a title.  He said he talked crap about Johnny Manziel of the Cleveland Browns who was sitting ringside but Manziel was good sport about it.

Rollins said football is his favorite sport and then was asked about age restrictions in sports. Rollins noted that this is America and everyone is free to do what they want and pursue their dreams. Coach brought up the subject of the unwritten rule of compete but not hurting your opponent and Rollins said it’s probably in all sports as it’s up to you to take care of yourself and your opponent. He said accidents do happen like when he broke Cena’s nose last month but it’s all healthy competition.
