Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella on Good Morning America, Brie says she’s retiring soon

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella appeared on Good Morning America this morning to talk about retirement and the future.

The couple were visited by GMA at their home in Phoenix, Arizona. Bryan talked about suffering seizures and keeping it private, not telling everyone, including his wife. However one of the seizures happened in front of his wife, who he then pleaded not to tell anyone because if she did, they would never clear him to return.

Brie admitted that it was very hard for her to keep the secret but respected her husband’s wishes and didn’t say anything.

When asked the question about people questioning if it’s fake or not, Bryan said, “It’s not real, and it’s not fake, but when you get slammed, you get slammed. I’m helping him slam me.”

GMA also touched on the lawsuit that former WWE Superstars have filed against WWE for failing to detect concussions earlier in the day. WWE told GMA that the lawsuit “has no merit and we will vigorously contest it.” Triple H is also interviewed and says that referees are thought to look for signs during the matches that might indicate a concussion and the talent themselves are reminded about it.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the interview came with Brie Bella, who said that her retirement is also close.

“Feeling and seeing everything he went through with his retirement, I just feel that it’s time for me to hang up the boots,” Brie said. “It’s gonna be hard for me as well but that day is definitely very close.”

GMA’s reporter Kayna Whitworth who interviewed both said that an announcement on Brie’s retirement is coming sometime this Summer.
