Chris Jericho returns on Smackdown

Chris Jericho returned on Smackdown last night during the opening segment, interrupting both Kevin Owens and AJ Styles who were arguing over a rematch for the United States title.

Jericho was last seen on WWE television the night after Payback back in early May and was stretchered out of Smackdown after Owens beat him up pretty bad and took the United States title away from him. Jericho resumed his work with the band Fozzy after that, touring the United States and doing some international destinations.

In late June, he joined the Raw brand for the Far East tour, participating in non-televised live event matches in Singapore and Japan.

On Smackdown last night, Jericho wrestled both Owens and Styles in a triple threat match for the United States title and was pinned by AJ Styles, causing Owens to lose his United States title that he had just won at Battleground.
