GFW planning on-demand streaming service

Global Force Wrestling is planning its own version of the WWE Network according to Ed Nordholm of Anthem Sports & Entertainment as the new brand tries to tap into its thousands of hours of footage.

TNA/Impact Wrestling has footage that dates back to 2002 including that of its weekly show Impact as well as many pay-per-views that have been held since then. Footage includes some of the best matches from the careers of AJ Styles, Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, and Kurt Angle, all of whom are now part of WWE.

“The objective is to make that our own video on-demand hub,” Nordholm said, adding that their YouTube channel is “highly ranked” in the sports category with just under 1 million subscribers.

The company already has a similar streaming service for those in the United Kingdom for 4.99GBP a month titled Total Access Impact which features Fight Network’s original weekly recap series Inside Impact, classic episodes of Impact, Xplosion episodes, Impact’s Greatest Matches, British Boot Camp, Epics, Unfinished Business, and Legends, as well as the latest live pay-per-view events, classic PPVs, and One Night Only specials.
