Rock said it was a “dream scenario” for him to walk into the biggest WrestleMania as the WWE champion and then passing the torch to John Cena, doing what’s right for the business. Asked if it was indeed his last wrestling match, The Rock didn’t exactly answer the question but said that if it was his last match, he’s happy with it and considering the injuries he suffered, he’s glad to have been able to finish the match and not let anyone know about the injuries.

Vliet then asked The Rock who he thinks will make it big next in the world of professional wrestling. The former champ name checked Roman Reigns (a cousin of his), The Shield, and Fandango. He had great things to say about Fandango saying to play a character like that is not easy and the man behind the character embraces it to the fullest.

Perhaps the most important question out of all the Q&A was when a fan asked him if WrestleMania 29 was the last time that e would see him in the ring.

“Mania may have been my last match,” The Rock wrote. “The 3 year goal was to come in & elevate the @WWE. Then proudly “do the honors,” he said.

The original plan was to have Brock vs Rock at WrestleMania 30 but the injury he suffered prevented from the angle to kick off the night after Mania on RAW. Rock had so far not committed publicly to doing WrestleMania 30 even though he was at the press conference in New Orleans.

The Rock confirmed that the plan was for him to enter an angle with Brock Lesnar the night after WrestleMania but his injury prevented it from happening. Rock said he and Lesnar have been friends for over 10 years and he felt that the would could have an awesome match against each other. Rock feels that it could still happen down the line.

The two wrestled at SummerSlam 2002 where Brock defeated The Rock to become one of the youngest WWE champions ever.

Addressing the story of him no showing RAW after WrestleMania, Rock said that WWE knew he wasn’t going to show up and all the allegations are false.

Rock said he talked with Vince, Cena, Triple H, CM Punk, and others after Mania as well as the docs and it was determined that he wouldn’t be on RAW so he can go and get his injuries fixed. Rock added that the tweet that he sent just as RAW was about to go on the air was the idea of the WWE writers.

“My dr’s said that starting back training w/ torn abdominals would be a bitch. Just found out they were right;). We gotta push thru..” he wrote on his Twitter, interestingly enough only after he earlier posted another tweet saying that he’s up at 5:48AM doing AM cardio.

Maybe some fans pointed out to him that his injuries prevented him to appear on RAW but he was still doing cardio as usual!

“Just part of the job,” The Rock tweeted. “But as we know it’s all about #JustBringIt. WWE Universe THANK YOU for all the love & well wishes. Means everything to me. #LeaveItAllInTheRing”

The Rock surprised everyone by packing up and flying home and sources say the backstage atmosphere was in chaos as the creative team tried to cook up a new storyline to replace the one which he was supposed to be a part of with Brock Lesnar.

That led to some massive boos and everytime he came on screen for a commercial or a replay from WrestleMania, the fans heavily booed him. The trailer for his upcoming Pain & Gain movie was played like five times during commercial breaks for fans inside the arena.

The Rock was scheduled to be a part of tonight’s RAW to plant the seeds for next year’s WrestleMania even though recently Rock said he’s still not sure if he will be participating.

The plan was to have him involved with Brock Lesnar in one of the major angles on the show however the word is that there is a big change in plans underway as the WWE creative team scrambles for a plan B.

PWInsider reports that Rock leaving caught everyone off guard as he was advertised for tonight’s show and there is some massive heat on the former WWE champion for bailing out like that.

Despite working only part time with WWE, the current WWE champion got the coveted spot on the cover of one of the most popular video games which is expected to be released in Fall 2013.

This will be the first game under the 2K Sports video game license after 2K won the rights from the bankrupt THQ.

CM Punk was on the official cover of WWE ’13 although several versions and limited editions of the game came out with different covers.

“It’s the biggest show of my career,” The Rock – who is now 40 – said, revealing that it was his choice who he wanted to wrestle this year on the show.

He said he chose John Cena because it made the most sense and it was the biggest money match WWE could offer right now. Besides that, he said there is deep respect in real life between the two.

“He’s been the No. 1 guy in the company for many years now, and has managed to maintain a genuine, optimistic love for the business,” The Rock said. “Often times, inherently, what the business creates is pessimism over time, and unhappiness. John has been able to stay above that, not get lost in the garbage, and not get lost in the noise. He’s very focused, very committed. There’s an X-factor about John that moves an audience.”

One newsworthy thing in the article was that The Rock hasn’t decided if he will be taking part at WrestleMania 30 next year despite being involved in the press conference when New Orleans was announced.

The game takes place on the set of a fictional Hollywood studio where The Rock is filming his latest blockbuster. Without warning, everyone around him is infected with a disease and starts changing into destructive personalities. The Rock must discover the truth behind the contagion and put an end to it.

“I am excited to partner with WWE and some of the best game developers in the world to bring something cool for fans to play,” said The Rock. “Boots to Asses style app, this will be fun!”

The champ will be back on TV next Monday though in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as on Smackdown the next day and the RAW after that on April 1.

Earlier today, Rock tweeted a photo of him walking the red carpet holding the WWE title up high saying that he’s proud to bring WWE to “new heights.”

The Rock was in Korea this week – South Korea that is – for the press conference and red carpet launch of G.I. Joe with his co-stars and just like he said he would, he carried the WWE title with him. You can see a photo of The Rock with title at the Seoul World Premiere at Times Square below.

Lesnar is also advertised for the March 18 RAW in Pittsburgh and the April 1 RAW in Washington, missing only the March 25 RAW in the build up to WrestleMania.

Brock Lesnar is not the only one doing the build up to RAW on a sort of part-time basis as The Rock is also having a similar schedule. The Rock is not being advertised for the March 11 and 18 RAW shows but will be at the March 25 RAW, Smackdown the next day in Hershey and then on the April 1 show. Rock is also advertised for the April 8 RAW, the day after WrestleMania.

In a sit-down interview to promote the G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie, The Rock showed up with the WWE title and even tweeted a picture of the title resting comfortably on his knee as the G.I. Joe poster stood in the background.

The Rock and Royal Rumble winner John Cena will go head to head for the second time in a row at a WrestleMania main event – the first time in WrestleMania’s 29 year history that such a thing is occurring.

“Congrats @TheRock …… I’ll see you at #thedance @WWE get ready for #WM29 4/7/13,” tweeted John Cena after yesterday’s Elimination Chamber.

“@JeffJarrettTNA Had to tell a few of our USWA stories tonight on #RAW my friend. From 40 bucks a night to @WWE Champ. #NashvilleDreams,” Rock wrote to Jarrett, a message which was retweeted 164 times.

“Congrats on all your success! #DowntownBruno,” Jarrett replied, adding the hashtag of Downtown Bruno, who WWE fans might now better as Harvey Wippleman. The Rock name-checked him during the promo which closed RAW yesterday.

The current WWE champion mentioned the former TNA champion on the broadcast while he was recounting stories from when he started wrestling in Nashville when he was 25 years old. Jeff Jarrett was fired in a TNA storyline at the end of 2011 following a steel cage match against Jeff Hardy at the Final Resolution pay-per-view.

Jarrett also wrote that after The Rock mentioned him on RAW, people made sure he knew about it!

“Phone blowing up… Twitter blowing up… @TheRock #theRocksays #40bucks.”

Rocky first dissed the referee who was telling him to get in line with the WM logo hanging from the rafters to get the perfect shot.

Rock said it’s been ten long years since he came back to do something special. He thanked the WWE Superstars in the back for putting a great team effort for a night like tonight. He also thanked his family who were at ringside.

“I wanna thank each and every single one of you. Thank you,” The Rock said, referring to the fans as “Rocky Rocky” chants filled the arena.

He then said his usual “If ya smell..” line before posing some more in the ring.

Towards the end of the match, lights went out and The Shield interfered, doing the triple power bomb on The Rock through the announce table. CM Punk pinned The Rock afterwards and was announced as the winner.

However WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon came out and said that he warned Punk that if The Shield interfered he would strip Punk of the title. The Rock begged McMahon not to strip him off the title, but let him take it away from him.

McMahon agreed, and the match was restarted. After Rock survived an elbow off the top rope, he delivered the spine buster and his second People’s Elbow to win the WWE title – his 8th of his WWE career.

CM Punk got in the ring after The Rock walked back up the ramp, grabbed the microphone and told his opponent, “13 days my ass! Just bring it.” After stalling for a few seconds, The Rock ran down the ramp and attacked Punk as referees tried to separate the two.

The pushing and shoving continued for a few more until Punk walked straight into a Rock Bottom. Referees and agents then pushed The Rock out of the ring as his theme blared over the arena speakers.

The second is something which is guaranteed to get some laughs from the crowd – a Rock concert featuring The Rock! This will be his third Rock concert, with his first one performed just before WrestleMania XIX in Sacramento, and his second in March of last year in Cleveland.
