WWE WrestleMania 34 Pick’em report with MagnumDA

Hey WO fans! It’s @TheMagnumDA LIVE from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Pick’em Crew (MagnumDA, Colin, Heel Turn Tom, and Tricky Don) will be attending WrestleMania XXXIV together at the SILV…SUPERDOME, brother! I was here four years ago for one of the greatest WrestleManias of all time (XXX), and I am really looking forward to today’s card. Also, I wanted to give a shoutout to both NXT and ROH for putting on fantastic shows last night. Unbelievable risks were taken in both ladder matches!

Real quick, here’s the scores for the 2018 Season:

Colin: 12 Pick’em Points
MagnumDA: 11 Pick’em Points
Tricky Don: 11 Pick’em Points
Heel Turn Tom: 10 Pick’em Points

ALRIGHT, LET’S GET TO THE PICKS! Only two matches have bonus points!

Pre-Show: Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Tricky Don: I am going on a limb and will predict Hulk Hogan will return and win this battle royal, therefore going on to promote the Andre the Giant documentary for HBO. Hulkster, PLEASE write down “SUPERDOME” on your wrist tape for the post-victory speech.

Heel Turn Tom: This battle royal had so much promise but produced so little. They need a stipulation that the winner gets something more than a trophy that will probably really goes back to WWE Headquarters. With who I know entered now, I see Dolph Ziggler winning and actually doing something with the win and not Billy Gunn-ing the win. But WWE will probably give up on the Ziggler push too early.

MagnumDA: This is difficult to predict, because there’s so many different variables at play here. Could a legend or a big name return? Could a new star be on the horizon? Or…could it possibly be the craziest guy on the roster? Well, I guess I’ll go with the nutcase. Matt Hardy wins. MOWER OF LAWNS!

Colin: Whoever wins it, it ain’t gonna do thing for his career anyway. Matt Hardy sounds like a good choice to me.

Pre-Show: WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal

Tricky Don: Hard to believe Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch stole the show at WrestleMania 32 with Charlotte Flair. Fast forward Becky and Sasha are in the battle royal. Becky Lynch has the crowd behind her, so she will go down in the history books as the first ever WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal winner.

Heel Turn Tom: The second battle royal on the pre-show so Vince saves paying out WrestleMania bonuses. I am glad all the stars get a chance to shine. The first winner will be Becky Lynch. Will she get more from this win than any of the winners of the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

MagnumDA: I am going to pick Sasha Banks eliminating Bayley to win it all. This will kick-start a long feud that goes into the summer.

Colin: It’s a toss-up for me between Sasha Banks and Bayley. They have been getting the most screen time lately out of the rest not in the title picture. I bet this one Sasha gets it.

Pre-Show: Mustafa Ali vs. Cedric Alexander (Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Finals)

Tricky Don: This one goes out to Big Patt! This could steal the pre-show. Give me Cedric Alexander to win the Cruiserweight title.

Heel Turn Tom: I don’t like title matches on the pre-show and if Wikipedia is correct this is on the pre-show. The fast and high flying match will get the crowd that has made it into the arena cheering. Cedric Alexander will get the win and become the new Cruiserweight champ.

MagnumDA: I am going with Cedric Alexander to win the Cruiserweight title. He was the last guy to challenge Enzo for the title, so it makes sense that they head in this direction.

Colin: I’m not a massive fan of the Cruiserweight division to be quite honest. I don’t follow 205 Live either. Cedric Alexander gets the title.

United States Championship Match: Fatal 4 Way
Randy Orton (c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev

Tricky Don: I think Orton will retain the belt, since I am predicting so many other title changes. Plus, he just won it at the last pay per view. Rusev will look strong, since he is a last-minute addition to the match, setting up the match RKO and Rusev at the next PPV. RKO out of nowhere for the victory.

Heel Turn Tom: Randy has gotten his run with the title. This match has too many people that could each put on a great singles match. I feel there will be a lot of title changes tonight and it starts here with Bobby Roode. Roode getting his title back.

MagnumDA: I always have the theory…that if a guy is added into a multi-person match at the last minute, there’s a reason for him to be in the match. Rusev could’ve easily been the pick for the Battle Royal, but since he’s in this match…and since it’s RUSEV DAY, I’m gonna pick the big Bulgarian.

Colin: Just like Nakamura’s theme…I’m really looking forward to hearing the GLORIOUS theme song here. And I hope the crowd goes all the way with it. Randy Orton to retain his title is my pick.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Triple Threat
The Miz (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor

Tricky Don: The Miz and Maryse just welcomed to this world his firstborn, so it seems only logical he will get a few weeks off. So now I have to pick between Rollins and Balor. No analysis here, but I have to go with the Demon King (Balor) for the win.

Heel Turn Tom: Speaking of still too many people in one match, but I am glad they were not thrown in the André battle royal. This may be the show stealer match of the night. All of these should be in the Universal hunt soon. But the Miz will get some time off to be with his child, so we need a new champ. The Elite will win and Finn will be celebrating his Intercontinental Championship with the Bálor Club.

MagnumDA: This was one of the best matches on Raw last year. I think they have another shot at tearing the house down. Give me The Miz to retain in a shocker, as many people are picking Balor to walk out with the title.

Colin: I wonder if Miz will get some time off to be with the baby. He’s on the way to break the record of the longest IC champ reign in total too. I don’t know about this one, I’m thinking The Miz retains here.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. Braun Strowman & ???

Bonus Point: Who’s the Mystery Partner?

Tricky Don: Bray Wyatt is the mystery partner, but The Bar retains.

Heel Turn Tom: The comedy show Braun Strowman will have to pick his partner and I am looking into the future and see Braun walking with Elias. This will definitely be the odd couple for upcoming shows. Braun and Elias will walk out Raw Tag Team Champions.

MagnumDA: Elias seems like a nice pick for this match, but he’s also in the Battle Royal. Hmm…eh, screw it. I’ll go with Braun and The Big Show..

Colin: For a mystery partner, I’ll pick Bray Wyatt. I don’t understand why Strowman is stuck in here. I mean, really? The most over guy in WWE right now and he’s doing this? Whatever. The Bar retains.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match (Smackdown Live): Triple Threat
The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

Tricky Don: I think The Usos retain in their first WrestleMania match.

Heel Turn Tom: While WWE has been pushing th Bludgeon Brothers like beasts, tonight they do not get their WrestleMania moment. The Usos win come in and out of this match as Smackdown Tag Team Champs and one of the few to retain tonight.

MagnumDA: I think the Bludgeon Brothers are about to ascend to the mountaintop. Harper and Rowan win the tag team titles.

Colin: The Usos’s first WrestleMania on the main card. Amazing to think about it. Best tag team in the biz right now. With probably the major titles all switching, some will retain, and I think The Usos will show why they’re the best.

Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon

Tricky Don: We will see some involvement with DX. The Rock will do a run-in, and Angle and Rousey will capture the victory.

Heel Turn Tom: We have not see Stephanie work in a long time and not sure what to expect out of Rousey. This match would have been better if the Rock was with Rhonda to get the pay off for Wrestlemania 31. Kurt and Triple H will do the heavy lifting in this match. I hope if Kurt looks good he gets one more good run. This match will finish with Rousey making Stephanie tap. Angle and Rousey win.

MagnumDA: I am very nervous about this match, but I know they are in good hands with Triple H. I think Ronda makes Steph tap, giving Rousey and Angle the victory.

Colin: I hope this match does NOT go last as some suggested. Yes, I’m looking forward to see how Ronda does in the ring, but I don’t want it to be the main event just yet. Angle/Rousey wins this one and I let you take a wild guess on who will get the pin and victory for their team…

Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Tricky Don: I feel this is all about Daniel Bryan, and at WrestleMania in New Orleans he defied the odds and beat HHH in the opening match, and then went on to beat Orton and Batista to win the gold. Bryan is unstoppable in New Orleans. I expect Shane to take one heck of a spot. Bryan/Shane all the way.

Heel Turn Tom: I am excited to see Daniel Bryan back. The crowd will be loud with Yes chants. Owens and Zayn will make Shane look good and protect Bryan. This may be the third best match of the night. To the end I see Shane beaten up and stretchered out of the match. Bryan plays the hero, makes the comeback and wins this tag match. The crowd goes crazy with the Yes chants. Bryan and Shane win.

MagnumDA: I could see Zayn and Owens coming back to Raw. I could also see a big-time swerve here. I’m going to go against the grain and pick Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Colin: I sense a turn here too. By who, I don’t know. Too early to turn DB heel, so maybe Shane? Either way, Zayn and Owens will get their job back. It would set up Bryan’s first feud with one of them. I know it sounds stupid having Bryan loses in his first match back in three years, but how will they explain Owens/Zayn coming back? Unless they move to Raw…

WWE Women’s Championship Match (Smackdown Live)
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Asuka

Tricky Don: Asuka will win the title and will continue her undefeated streak to challenge Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania XXXV.

Heel Turn Tom: This will be the best women’s match of the night. These two will go back and forth. Asuka will be challenged like never before. We will see the figure eight and believe Flair will win, but Asuka makes the come back and wins the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

MagnumDA: This match should be fabulous. I think the streak continues. Asuka for the win, which will effectively put her on Smackdown. If Carmella even THINKS of cashing in, she will be annihilated by Asuka.

Colin: This is another no-brainer with Asuka winning. There’s no way for her unbeaten streak to end at WrestleMania on her first quest for the title. No way. There’s one woman who will break her streak: Ronda Rousey. Anyway, Asuka for the W.

WWE Women’s Championship Match (Raw)
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax

Tricky Don: I am predicting Nia Jax to get the win and Alexa to get her comeuppance. Although I think the match will end in a count-out, and Alexa will leave the champion.

Heel Turn Tom: I like Alexa and think she has been great as the heel champ. I still think Nia is not used correctly. She is not constantly the monster. While I want to say the best performer will win, I do not see WWE having the bully win. I am sure there will be a “Be A Star” video before or after this match and Nia Jax will become the new Raw Women’s Champion.

MagnumDA: I keep thinking that Alexa Bliss is going to get squashed here, but somehow walk away with the title. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but give me Alexa.

Colin: Can we see two title changes? Hm, maybe. Will Carmella fit in somewhere? Maybe. Bliss has been escaping Nia Jax for a while and the only payoff for this one is for Jax to squash her. I can see a DQ as well here. Hell, I’m going on a limb and say it’s a DQ win for Nia.

WWE Championship Match
AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Tricky Don: I cannot wait for this match. It seems like forever since we have had a wrestler who has had the support of the crowd and has never won the heavyweight title before, in an attempt to win his first title on the grandest stage of them all. Nakamura wins the gold.

Heel Turn Tom: Finally the match the fans have been wanting to see. NJPW will shine in this match and people will be wanting other of their stars to headline WrestleMania. This will compete with the IC title match for the match of the night. Another title will change as Shinsuke will hit a Kinshasa out of nowhere for the 1-2-3. Fans cheer and confetti will fly.

MagnumDA: This is going to be an incredible bout. I have been waiting for this one since January 2016. The first match was an all-time classic, and this one could be too. Give me Shinsuke to become the first Japanese-born WWE Champion.

Colin: I hope this match goes on last because it deserves to go on last. If it doesn’t, I feel bad for whoever has to follow this one. Part of me wants AJ to win, and another part wants Nakamura to win. The only problem I see with Nakamura winning is his lack of mic skills in English. But I can’t wait for 70,000 to sing along to his theme. Nakamura gets it, new champion.

WWE Universal Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Tricky Don: This time around they do not have a MITB holder to save the match. Nothing can derail Reigns, including steroid accusations, low ratings, and 75% of the crowd booing him. It will be fun to see the crowd reaction for this one. I predict Reigns to win, Reigns to turn heel, and Lesnar to tease a face turn…in case he re-signs.

Heel Turn Tom: I see Brock taking some time off and seeing if he is still suspended for the UFC steroid test. Vince will have his pet Roman win after getting rag dolled by German suplexes all match and hit a couple superman punches and a spear. Fans boo and confetti will fly for the new Universal champ.

MagnumDA: I only have two requests for this match…please go on first, and please last 2 minutes. As a Minneapolis native, I love Brock. That said, he deserves to get completely crushed in short order. Send him back to UFC a humiliated man. Roman destroys him to win the title.

Colin: Lesnar has been beating the shit out of Reigns for the past three weeks. If he does it again at WrestleMania and walks out as the champion, I will go to Bourbon Street naked. Vince’s other boy Roman will surely get this one and there’s no other alternative.

John Cena vs Undertaker
Bonus Point: This match is worth two points, if it happens. If the match takes place, who’s your pick?

Tricky Don: Undertaker goes into mania as 23-2. I feel he will win this match and go on to 24-2.

Heel Turn Tom: Undertaker will have a few great moments and chants of “You still got it”. Taker will hit a chokeslam, but Cena will kick out. Next will be a last ride, but Cena kicks out. It will look like the AA for the win, but Undertaker will slide off and hit the tombstone. Undertaker wins.

MagnumDA: Could we see the return of the American Badass? I guess time will tell. I am still unsure how this is going to all go down, but it’s entirely possible that the match takes place. That said, if it goes down…give me Undertaker to finally put Cena in his place: Six feet under.

Colin: Undertaker wins.

That’s it from us LIVE in New Orleans! Have fun tonight, be safe, and enjoy WRESTLEMANIA!!!!!!
