Ian Hamilton wanted to share the below information regarding the future of our audio show, Ringside:
"As most of you know by now, last Thursday we lost a great friend in Adam Dykes, best known to all of us as Adam Firestorm.
Adam’s untimely passing leaves a huge void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and it is no different here. From his first show for us on September 29, 2007, Adam became the heart and soul of Ringside. Not a week would go by when I wouldn’t look forward to recording the show with Adam, with our off-the-air chats prior to going live often became the highlights of my week, especially with the chats making sure that staying up well after midnight on Friday nights didn’t become a chore.
Even on the (many) weeks we didn’t have a special guest, Adam made each episode of Ringside feel special, whether it was a special WrestleMania-themed episode, or a simple run of the mill edition recapping the week’s non-news. Even now, as I write this, thinking back to our last recording, barely a day before his passing, I can’t help but smile at the things that Adam did to help brighten up each and every show.
Without Adam, it would not feel right to continue doing Ringside. Any attempt to keep the show going without him would only ruin the memory of the shows we’d done together... but at the same time, it would not be right to simply call a halt to everything.
Therefore, on Wednesday November 25, on what would have been Adam’s 33rd birthday, Ringside will be going up for one last episode. We’ll be presenting a special tribute show, as we remember the life and times of Adam Firestorm, with some of Adam’s friends and colleagues from the world of wrestling joining us to share the good memories and great times that he left behind.
If you would like to be a part of the show, please contact us via e-mail - ringside@theringsidelive.com - and we’ll get back to you, whether you want to appear on the show, or just have a favorite memory of the man who tore the house down in the ring, and entertained us every Friday night behind the mic.
Adam, I hope I can do you proud with this one. We’re going to miss you..."
Meanwhile, the folks at Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling, where Adam wrestled before, compiled a tribute video for him which you can see below.
