'The Wrestler' movie sparks huge sales in wrestling tickets in the UK

- Ticket website Viagogo.co.uk issued a press release saying that Mickey Rourke's Golden Globe winning performance in the movie 'The Wrestler' made a big effect on both WWE and TNA tickets in the United Kingdom. After the movie hit the screens, Viagogo saw a surge of triple the sales for wrestling tickets with TNA tickets at the NIA Arena and Wembley Arena trading for more than £100 on the website.

Mickey Rourke's Golden Globe winning performance in hit movie The Wrestler has seen demand surge for the both the forthcoming TNA tour, which is hitting the UK from Tuesday 20th January, and the WWE RAW and Smackdown tours in April.

As the Oscar tipped movie hits the cinemas, demand for tickets to see these hugely popular events has more than tripled on Europe's leading ticket exchange viagogo as fans scramble to see their heroes in action.

Ringside tickets to see the Atlanta gold medal winner Kurt Angle up close on the TNA tour at the NIA Arena and Wembley Arena are trading for more than £100 on viagogo.

Wrestling has become big business in recent years and it is proving to be one of the most popular tickets on the sports and entertainment circuits, regularly selling out venues such as the O2, Wembley Arena, MEN and NIA. The most sought after wrestling ticket of last year was the WWE Smackdown Survivor Series Tour, when ringside tickets were changing hands for £150+.
