Linda McMahon's quest to become a U.S. Senate under the Republican banner is facing a tougher road now as current Senator Christopher J. Dodd is not seeking re-election and one of the State's most popular politicians, state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is entering the race.

Both McMahon and former GOP Congressman Rob Simmons led Dodd in recent polls however new polls show that Blumenthal is now leading the former WWE Chief Executive Officer by a 58% to 34% margin. In the last poll, she led Dodd by 6%.

Meanwhile, the Federal Election Commission has flagged hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign expenditures described as in-kind contributions by Linda McMahon and is seeking explanation.
