- Mickey Rourke's storybook ending for his Hollywood comeback wasn't meant to be as he lost out to Sean Penn yesterday at the Academy Awards.

Rourke won most of the other awards leading up to the Oscars including one on Saturday night however his "hunch" of not getting the golden statue proved to be correct.

"I don't know. It's voted for by people from the movie business and in the past I've hacked them all off. I was good at that. It came easy to me," Rourke said last week in an interview regarding his chances of winning the Oscar.

His co-star Marisa Tomei also failed to win in the best actress in a supporting role category.

In a recent poll it showed that a majority of the people wanted Rourke to get the win.
