- After a 40 minute non-jury trial, an emotional Kurt Angle told Channel 11 News in Pittsburgh that the DUI incident has taken a toll on his family, minutes after he was not found guilty for the charges pressed against him last year. "I regret it. It's something that, you know, I didn't do anything wrong. The law tries to turn around and get you. Maybe because you're a celebrity, maybe not," the former WWE and TNA champion explained. The prosecutor pushed the fact that Angle admitted to them that he drove him after drinking at a bar and that he failed two sobriety tests that were administered by the police at his house and later refused a blood test at a local hospital. However the Judge said that they cannot prove that he was actually "driving" under the influence and dismissed the case. Police filed charges against him after a woman dialed 911 and told them that a car with a particular registration number was driving erratically and the cops matched the number to Angle's. His attorney said that, "the alcoholic beverages he consumed were after he was home and done driving." A teary-eyed Angle added, "I've gotten a bad name. And regardless of this interview or any interview, when people hear my name, they think Kurt Angle was driving under the influence. Just crazy how society is today."
