The WWE corporate website at corporate.wwe.com issued a statement regarding Linda McMahon's intention to run for the United States Senate.
"Linda McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, is considering a run for the United States Senate representing the state of Connecticut. Should she decide to run, Linda would step down as CEO, and Vince McMahon would assume the duties of CEO in addition to his current position as WWE Chairman," read the short statement.
The news broke out yesterday morning by a Washington Post political blogger who said Linda certainly has the money and means to have a successful primary race and quoted a close source of McMahon who said that she is seriously considering the idea.
