The JournalEnquirer.com website is reporting that WWE collected nearly $3 million in state tax credits just eight weeks before Linda McMahon announced her Senate campaign.
A top official with the agency that hands out the tax credits said that more money will be pumped back into WWE over the next few weeks.
The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism’s records reveal that the tax credits for WWE were issued in connection with $12.3 million in expenses incurred in 2007 by two of the television productions, Smackdown and Raw, as well as by the company’s WWE.com website.
Although Linda McMahon resigned from her position as Chief Executive Officer, she is still a majority owner of WWE along with her husband Vince McMahon and is a Director and a member of the Executive Committee.
