- WWE Chairman Vince McMahon appeared on 'The Today Show' with Meredith Viera on NBC this morning to discuss the Benoit family tragedy. The discussion was mainly with the host pressing McMahon on the use of steroids in professional wrestling. Vince said that the last random test Benoit took was in April and it was negative however he said that it doesn't mean he wasn't taking them when this happened. Vince said that hopefully the toxicoiogy report will shed some light on the situation although since the crime was done over a period of three days he suspects that roid rage is out of the question. McMahon said that the company had no indication at all that this person would turn out to be a "monster" and do what he did to his family. In the closing moments, Vince said that the company is not trying to hide the fact that Benoit was part of their organization, because, in his words, "unfortunately, he was". He added it was time to find a way to move on in the best way possible for the company and its fans.
